THE CHALLENGE One industry that continues to experi- ence rapid growth is the life sciences and pharmaceuticals industry. As more and more medications and therapies enter the market, the need for compliant ware- house space has never been greater. After fielding requests from current and prospective clients, industry lead- ing third-party logistics provider MD Logistics took the opportunity to dedi- cate more space to clients within these industries, converting half of their larg- est in-network facility into cGMP compliant, temperature-controlled ware- house space. THE SOLUTION MD Logistics operates six state-of-the-art facilities across their domestic U.S. net- work, four within Central Indiana. The largest of these facilities was selected to respond to industry needs for addi- tional capacity. The opportunity to convert this space, coupled with MD Logistics’ storied history within the life sciences and phar- maceuticals industry, made this solution an obvious choice. Space Acquired Even though warehouse space is in high demand, within the industry and in cer- tain markets, it is in short supply. Once additional capacity can be acquired, there can be long lead times to build out the space to fit the needs of the client

This newly transitioned space will include 15-25 ° C and 2-8 ° C tem- perature-controlled environments, specifically designed to store pharmaceu- tical and medical device products. Industry Experience Products within the life sciences and pharmaceuticals industry require a great deal of oversight to ensure they remain safe for consumption by patients. Temperature-sensitive medications must remain within strict temperature range throughout all levels of the supply chain, especially during order fulfill- ment, to remain compliant.
